10 Bold and Brilliant Rugs to Close Out Color Month—And Most of Them Are On Sale

by Jennifer Cameron inMediterranean Style

In case you missed it, July was declared Color Month here at AT, and we’re feeling sad that it’s almost over. While there’s nothing wrong with decorating your home in soft neutrals and muted patterns, there’s just something about vibrant colors that really elevate a room into a true space with personality. To say farewell to Color Month, we scoured the internet for gorgeous, vivid rugs (yeah, it’s a hard job, we know) that will add character to any space. Check out some of our favorites below—right now, many of them are even on sale.

Bianca Rug – 5’x8′ , $578 $404 from Lulu & Georgia

Playful with a touch of ’60s style, this diamond-patterned rug has it all: color, texture, and, of course, tassels. It warms up any space, especially when paired with a tan leather sofa and marble accent pieces (seen above).

Zinnia Rug – 5’x8′ , $235 from One Kings Lane

This bright orange rug is perfect for contemporary spaces. Pair it with gray or brown furniture to tone down the bold, or turn up the volume with white pieces that let the citrus vibes take center stage.

Claretta Rug – 5’x8′ , $289 $188.99 from Joss & Main

Joss & Main is full of inexpensive rugs , including this handmade find that’s a boho design lover’s dream. It comes in six colors and 12 sizes, but we really love the contrast between the dark blue and bright reds and yellows in this piece.

Ivey Rug – 5’x7′ , $315 from One Kings Lane

Made in India, this rug has a deep pink color that looks vintage but feels very fresh. The textured motifs give this rug more personality than most patterned options, and will complement an eclectic, boho space. It’s best suited for low-traffic areas like bedrooms, or even a nursery.

Handloomed Striped Viscose Rug – 5’x8′ , $598 from Anthropologie

If color is what you want, you have to check out Anthro’s rug collection, which includes this brightly elegant find . Featuring alternating stripes of viscose and wool, it looks and feels inviting—and comes in five other colors if you’re not a fan of marigold (which, by the way, is having a moment ).

Savala Teal Area Rug – 5’x7’6″ , $529 $116.99 from Joss & Main

If you love color but don’t want a rug that’s too bright, check out this teal option from Joss & Main. Calming with muted tones, it makes for a lovely addition to a living room or bedroom. Pair it with whites and browns for an organic, comfortable feel.

Margo Selby Stripe Block Rug – 5’x8′ , $199 from West Elm

This geometric rug was designed exclusively for West Elm by textile artist Margo Selby . Playful and eclectic, it’s a great pick for those who aren’t afraid to play with color, shapes, and patterns. Put it in a contemporary living area and pair it with gold accent pieces for a totally luxe look.

Chalet Herringbone Area Rug – 5’x8′ , $138.99 $66.03 from Rugs USA

The bold orange hue of this budget-friendly rug from popular site RugsUSA is broken up by the classic herringbone pattern, making it a bit easier on the eyes. Pair it with white or gray furniture to keep things calm, or turn up the contrast with a deep navy sofa to add some drama to your space.

All Roads Texture-Striped Flatweave Rug – 5’x8′, $398 $298.50 from Anthropologie

This textured rug is perfect for cozy spaces that need a little more color. Put it in your bedroom or office to make the space extra inviting—one of the smaller sizes will look especially good under your favorite reading chair.

Mirabelle Rug – 5’6″x8’6″ , $1,125 from Lulu & Georgia

If you want your space to feel a bit more Mediterranean, consider this gorgeous azure rug from Lulu & Georgia. It’s definitely expensive, but the bright, calming colors and eye-catching design will elevate any space it’s put in.
